Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman from America. The Corcoran Group, an NYC real estate brokerage was established by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran later left the company. Corcoran is one of ABC's original Shark investors, has been a part of each episode of Shark Tank. As of February 2020, she had signed 53 deals with the show, the largest one being $350,000 for 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second child of ten in a Catholic Irish working class family. Florence, her mother was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father through Corcoran's early years. Sometimes, the family relied on deliveries of food that was free from a local grocer. Corcoran remembers her father, one who would drink too much and treated her mother with disrespect and condescendingly, particularly after he'd had some drinks. Corcoran was a troubled pupil throughout her schooling. Later, she discovered she was dyslexic. Corcoran was educated at a Catholic elementary school, and later began high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. Corcoran was a failure in numerous classes in her freshman year, moved to Leonia High School. There she received a grade of D.
